And I also wear a pair of size 8w 3-inch no platform, of course closed toe heels. So, when I bought these, I ordered a size 8.5, since the heel height was squarely in the middle 4.5-inch of the pairs that I already own. All pairs fit me perfectly. I hope that helps.
