I measure a 5.5 narrow. So, I went with the 5. It is still pretty big. I can easily wear a sock with it. If your foot runs pretty true to a 9.5, I think you will be fine with the 9. If your foot is on the wider side, these shoes zip on the side and tie, so you can adjust them to the width of your foot. Especially with the slope of the wedge on this shoe, it tends give you more room than a flat shoe would. Hope this helps!
