Alyssa B: When you take the boots off they are pretty sturdy. The leather is pretty stiff and there is a fur inside the boot that also makes the boot thicker. Although when i try to stand mine up straight they do not stand fully straight up by themselves. They are not the kind of boots that are "self held" they are more boots that fit to your leg in which makes them stand up. The leather is strong and comfortable though.
