They add 5 and a half inches, but there is no heel. So you are walking on the ball of your feet. And they are real leather. Don't even think about walking on any surface that is not completely flat, you will probably fall. 10 minutes walking in these and my ankles hurt. Also almost rolled my ankle in them.
