Amanda I: If your foot is not narrow, I would go up half a size. I wear an 8. I ordered an 8. They are a bit snug on my feet, but they do fit. They would be more comfy if they were an 8.5. They are pretty tall too. I will invest in a Dr. Scholl's shoe pad to support the ball of my feet.
