I ordered a small and it fit me pretty well other than it was a little tight in the shoulder area. It is not a fitted jacket in the waist and chest area and since you are quite a bit smaller than me I would not suggest that you order the medium unless you are looking for a looser fitting jacket. I am 5'2 and 100 lbs and am happy with the way it fit on me. So if you are petite and worried that will be too big/baggy, should be okay sleeve length may be an issue, but easily altered or just roll up. Shoulders were perfect on me, so if you happen to be broad, may be a little snug in that regard. I am not a shoulder pad person, but the ones on this jacket are fine and give the jacket a nice shape.
